Is racism an issue where you live?

Question

Australia is known for it's diverse culture and it's population of mixed races. we usually all get along but recently, the new citizen ship test has sparked some controversy. some say its about keeping muslims and other races out of Australia. while the people who defend this test claim that it is about "protecting genuine Australian values"

this comment to me, is very vague and unclear to me. i am an australian born chinese kid. i am 16 and i havnt done politics or antyhing so i am very confused.

what are "genuine Australian values!?"

my grandparents are Muslim Australians, and their village has a very strong Muslim community. the town even pays for a Muslim newsletter that my grandfather helps write. he owns a farm and a lot of houses, and everyone there has been very supportive. Australia has seemed to me even less racist than America, where I live, but maybe times are changing. I hope they are not; this "preserving values" thing was what the Holocaust started out with. I don't believe they would start killing people off, but kicking people out of the country isn't exactly being tolerant and open-minded. I don't know anything about the new citizenship test, so I suggest you find out as much as you can, and form your own opinion.

racism is a problem where i live, just 3 days ago i saw someone get kicked out of the swimming pool because she was calling these guys the n word

It can be but not always.  I try to get along with everyone but not everyone is willing to get along with me.  Like on our bus they marked on side black people only or something I was like omg thats mean.  It hurts to know that people would judge people like that.  Who cares if someone is white or black?  We are all one no one is better or worse.  When will people finally understand that?  God bless.
