Question:

Is raisin bran actually unhealthy? :(?

I'm trying to determine if I should find a healthier subsitute or not...I can always get bran cereal and add raisins, but I love raisin brain T_T and I've only found one article that says it's unhealthy...it's just concerning. So I guess I'm wondering how bad or good it is for you after reading that article...(link below).

  1. It is one of the most healthy cereals. If you are concerned, you can always get some Wheaties and add raisins, or bran flakes. Then you would have less sugar.  


  2. Probably not.  Unless they say sugar is a problem.  It's just saying to only eat it once in awhile.

  3. Low carb diet is bunk

    High fiber and fruits and vegetables is the way to health.

    The low carb c**p is a bunch of BS.

    The reason people lose weight on it is because they are reducing their total calories.  protein is more dense than carbs so it takes less to fill you up.  So you take in less.

    research has shown that a diet low in fat and high in carbs, high fiber carbs vs  a low carb diet lose the SAME amount of weight.  The low carb dieters lose more in the beginning but over time both groups lose the same amount.

    To lose weight and maintain a healthy body you should be consuming 35grams of fiber per day.  Also helps to keep things moving smoothly and high fiber keeps you full too and helps remove cholesterol from your blood stream (especially oat fiber).

    Ditch the low carb diet c**p

  5. As far as I know, Raisin Bran just has added sugar. That's about the only real difference between it and something like All Bran with raisins added to it.
