  1. Yes

  2. Congratulations, returning to your country is a fabulous thing to do. Dunno about Ranchi though....

  3. For now, it appears to be safe. However, don't forget that the state of Jharkhand was created mainly to appease the tribals of the area who had been engaged in a long and often violent movement for it's creation. Ranchi has a large non- tribal population and the mistrust between the adivasis (tribals) and the non adivasis is still brewing there below the surface. Sooner or later it will come to the surface as more and more non adivasis are migrating to the city from Bihar and elsewhere and the price of land there is rising steadily. I have worked in that area as a doctor for a few years and know the problems. Moreover, in much of the tribal belt in Jharkhand,a silent cold war is going on between the extreme right Hindu organisations like VHP and Bajrang Dal and the local Christians. Ranchi along with Jamshedpur and Rourkela witnessed horrible communal violence against Muslim in 1964. It is a communally sensitive city.

Patna, for that matter has a far better record than Ranchi, though Ranchi, located among the hills around, may look more beautiful.

Overall, the picture is not very bright about Ranchi. May God keep you safe and happy if you finally decide to settle here.

  4. very much safe.

  5. I lived in Ranchi for 6 years. 1987 to 1992.

I can never forget this place. We have lived in many other places including Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad. However If possible we will settle in RANCHI only.

Its safe compare to Indian standard.

  6. Ranchi is definitely safe. After formation of Jharkhund, it was developed a lot.

  7. well, Ranchi is a developing area n its safe to live in,. I know that place.
