  1. Raspberry vinegar is simply vinegar that has had berries sitting in it a long time or had berry flavor added. It could be white vinegar, apple cider, wine or whatever -- before the berries were added.

The reason people in Alternative Medicine category recommend apple cider vinegar is because it is fermented apple juice. Red wine vinegar is fine, too -- it is fermented grapes.

White vinegar is not good, however -- it is fermented WOOD. It is popular because it doesn't add any color to pickles and because it's cheap. I use it to clean with but I don't eat it.

So if the ingredients list on your vinegar says something like, "Vinegar, raspberries" or "Vinegar, artificial color & flavor" it is not "as good as" apple cider vinegar because it's made with White vinegar. If the ingedients say, "Cider vinegar, raspberries" or "Wine vinegar, natural raspberry flavor" it is fine to use for food.
