As a passenger, of course.

I've heard that it "tires out" your eyes, and is potentially dangerous. Is that true?

  1. Reading while in a car is no worse than reading anywhere else, meaning if you've got adequate lighting and all, then you'll be fine, vision-wise. As far as headaches, nausea, and other forms of motion sickness, that varies from person to person, so there's no way of predicting whether or not it'll be a problem for you. But as far as your eyesight goes, there's nothing wrong with it.

  2. If you are the one driving, it's extremely dangerous - Even worse - reading to someone on your cell phone.

  3. as a passenger I've read before and as a result I have gotten migraines

  4. it can give you motion sickness and make you throw up

  5. i don't know about it tiring out your eyes, but i do think it makes you queasy after a while. it only happens to me after a looong time, but i don't get queasy that easily.

i think it's because your eyes are basically fixed on one spot, and then when you look away, your eyes have to adjust to that.

  6. If your driving YES!!!! but if your a passenger and have some lights on its  fine (at night).

  7. Depends on the person. It makes some people sick or gives them miagranes. I do it and it doesn't have any side effects for me.

If you're in the car at night don't read as there is not enough light which will damage your eyes.

  8. I read, do crossword puzzles and some hand sewing, but of course only if someone else is driving.
