I used to recycle but I thought to myself am I a homeless man.

I do like recycling because we can save the earth.

I save the cans to cash in a white kitchen bag and i bring gloves.

But I have to walk to the grocery store which is 9 or so blocks away that aren't really long. Do you recycle is this normal?

I save the money that I get in a jar and I haven't took out what I got yet.

  1. i think it is fine to cash stuff in . it makes sure trash doesnt litter the environment and you get another incentive too. more places should offer a cash in service then maybe more people would take the time to recycle the trash. if it is off the landfill it s a good thing. you recycle in the way you think fit. not every one has the same lifestyle and most of us need a cash boost..

  2. As long as you are helping the environment it's fine.

  3. it is okay but many people judge you and think that you are poor or homeless.

i am 14 years old and sometimes my dad wants to recycle the bottles at a stop n shop to get money

i tell him that he would look like a bum so he doesn't do it

  4. I live a comfortable life and don't need the money for recycling. I do recycle as much as is practicle. Which is quite a bit. It is one of my sons responsibilites and he gets to keep all the money from it. Which allows him to learn to manage money and see the value of things others just throw away. I don't restrict what he can buy, but I also is required to sort all recycling not just what he can get money for. When he goes to college in a few years I'll take over the recycling, I can't see putting a valuable resource into a landfill.

  5. I pick the trash up along the road in front of my house.   Usually the stuff I can recycle goes in the bag first.   Of that, whatever I can make money off of gets precedence - aluminum over glass over plastic.

  6. what do you think the recycling company's do? They sell the aluminium cans. You would be stupid not to sell the cans.

  7. Of course it is ok.  Only when the capitalist system fully embraces recycling will it be on the mass level.

    Look at recycled clothing/rags/reclaimed textiles.

  8. Every consumer should do their part: refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle in that order.  If you have the opportunity to make a little change from your efforts, more power to you.
