  1. religion is not paranormal. paranormal is kinda strange and impossible things which are possible. it involves things like clairvoyance, ouijaboards, cropcircles, ghosts, vampires etc,. but religion involves superstition and god and spirits and afterlife. religion's paranormality is religious in its own way.

  2. Absolutely, that is the fallacy of all these moronic skeptics (of which I used to subscribe) the belief in the unknowable is always the paranormal.

These people will go to church and then turn around and tell you not to believe in thus and such, thus and such is evil. I remember when from behind the pulpit a Catholic Priest raged against meditation and the TM movement in general. Now what do they teach? The Centering Prayer.

The Church used to preach against even the thought of Aliens now they admit they exist and on May 8th announced it isn't a sin to believe in aliens.

The Church used to preach against any type of 'New Age' energy healing but I know of three Catholic colleges that are teaching Reiki.

I know this went down a side road but yes any formalized religion has it's paranormal underpinnings except maybe Zen.

But then saying 'what is, is what is', just might be paranormal in some people's opinion.

Along with this diatribe I want to add: "It is right and proper to believe, formal religions strengthen family unity and give hope to the hopeless in their times of need". It is not a false hope even though we cannot see it touch it or feel it this moment. There is a God and she has only our best interests at heart. Now don't get bent out of shape saying God is a she that was said with a little mirth because God is not truly female, male or sexless but is a combination of the three.

  3. To the extent that both revolve primarily around the concept of an afterlife, yes.

  4. Religion is completely normal, nothing paranormal about it. Even the mystic hoodoo embraced by all religions can be considered normal. Every human culture does it, so that's pretty much the definition of normal.

Now, the BELIEF of spirits, Heaven, h**l, Nirvana, the spiritual underworld, or the living planet consciousness is just that -- it's a belief. People have been wrangling over whose beliefs are right since humans first formed into tribes -- and that, too, is completely normal. Nothing paranormal here.

  5. It depends, how religious are you?

Frankly, anyone from another religion/without a religion/aren't very religious would say yes.

  6. A lot of religion is a misinterpretation . Unfortunately that can have grave consequences .

People refuse to admit that the bible has technical matters because they are too hung up on religion to analyze properly.

It is a shame that people can't see the genetic bomb threat in the bible. Perhaps their heads are too far up their a/s/s/ . Perhaps the bible was just kidding

  7. I don't think religion itself has anything to do with the paranormal.  There may have been "a paranormal" type of act that may have been performed in some of the readings & times.

  8. Nah, religion is just stupid.

  9. Religion is supernatural,I learned that in catechism years ago.The word paranormal is a less mystical way to say supernatural.Probably coined for just that purpose. The answer is yes it's supernatural but it's not Science.

The talk about God and Jesus and salvation. It's out of place in a science section.Even one only marginally scientific like this.

People should keep their religion private.Save the preaching for the correct forum.
