Is rich text format the same thing as rich text document?

i need to submit a document to an online e-zine and they want it attached in an email as an rtf (rich text format). i cant find an option to save as an rtf on my pc, but it does offer rtd (rich text document). is there a difference or are they the same thing?

  1. Yes, it is the same.  Word Pad, accessible in 'accessories' can save a document as a .rtf file.
