  1. We are tried and true cllients of these guys in Cancun for everything.

The prices and service can't be beat. The special attention we get along with the Discount Cards are great.

We wear our free t-shirts we got on our 50 person catamaran trip we took. Here in the USA and people ask us about them all the time.

I would hate to take a vacation to the east side of Mexico without Rob and Al Mason looking out for us..call them for the real information and the best service. 1-888-862-3806

  2. While both are fine resorts, I would recommend that you upgrade to the Riu Palace Las Americas. It is located right next door to the Riu Cancun. The Riu Caribe is kid of further from the central area of Cancun, not really within walking distance. We are going to the RPLA in December for the 5th time. RPLA is far superior in every way. Food, drinks (top shelf) service etc. the cost should not be excessive to upgrade either.

  3. I went to the riu cancun at the end of Jan./08 with a group of 4 other people for 2 weeks and we loved it.  The hotel was very clean and our room was also kept very clean.  Our whole group had  a great time, it was my father and mother-in-laws first trip to Mexico and they were a little nervous at first about going but after day 2 they were talking about saving up to come back to the same resort next year.

Bits of advise that might help if you're going.  I read about the hard beds from people before going so we asked for a matress pad during our check-in as well as extra pillows and they were brought to us minutes after we got to our room.  We still found the bed hard for us so the next day we asked for another matress pad and then the bed was perfect!  Lots of people complain about it but they're more than happy to fix it for you.  That's another thing the staff there are excellent very friendly and helpful.  We found that the sit down restaurants have been better at other hotels but the buffet was so huge and the food was really really good.  There wasn't a need to go to the sit down restaurants as the buffet changed themes every night.  My husband finds the food an important part of his enjoyment of the vacation and he hasn't been able to stop raving about the great buffet they had.

Another thing we found was the sun leaves the pool at about 2pm as the building is so high but you can always move to the beach where there's lots of seats and a drink waiter that brings you drinks.  The last pool by the stairs going to the beach is heated and we found that one was the best but take note that people reserve their seats with towels  by 7 a.m., so we just came down put our blanket on our seat grabbed a cappaccino from the lobby (yum!!) and took it back to our room.

I hope this helps,  one of the websites we looked up rated this the #7 hotel out of all the hotels in Cancun  (rated by the public) so clearly lots of people like this hotel as well.  One last thing we go to Cancun 3 to 4 times a year and we asked for a room on one of the higher floors (we got the 10th floor) and it had the best ocean view that I've ever seen.  It was like a postcard it was so beautiful and all the rooms are ocean view.

  4. I am going to the Riu Cancun myself in January 2009.  From what I've read about both of them, they seem to be very good hotels with very friendly staff.  The Caribe has a nicer beach, but overall the Riu Cancun is of a higher quality than the Caribe (it does cost a little more to stay there).  However, if you choose to stay at the Caribe or the Cancun, you can use the facilities in the other hotel as well.  Both hotels also have a minibar w/ beer, pop, water, and an alcohol dispenser w/ tequila, vodka, rum, and another alcohol right in the room, which is unique to the riu hotels.  I recommend looking at tripadvisor.com.   You can see all of the reviews on both hotels (there are a TON) as well as any other hotel in cancun.
