  1. There is great disagreement among doctors as to whether or not the skin is an effective way to detox.  Many doctors say the skin in impermeable to water, if it was not, then when we soaked in water without the same amount of salt as the body, the cells would take up water and we would explode from too much water.

Other doctors claim that the skin is the largest detoxifying organ of the body and it releases water soluble and fat soluble chemicals.

I tend to think that it is ridiculous to think that the skin doens't detoxify when we KNOW that sweat is more than just water.  But, can chemicals in the tub "pull out" toxins?  Probably not, probably sweating is the only way to "pull out" toxins and that is accomplished by exercising or saunas.

But, I do believe that the debate still rages on!

  2. Considering that neither one will do any "detoxing" at all, yes.  One is just as effective as the other!
