Is rollerblading good exercise?

How does rollerblading compare to running (besides the fact that its easier on joints)? Does it burn more calories? Will it help thin the outer or inner thigh?

  2. I honestly don't know about burning calories or thinning thighs, but with regard to the joints - any exercise that places stress on both legs equally(e.g. skipping, swimming, maybe rollerblading?) will be better than running which stresses one leg at a time.

    Sit ups, back extensions and other exercises for your "core" muscles will help. Because a strong midsection will absorb the weight of your upper body coming down as you run and prevent too much joint damage.
