  1. Depends on the school and their rules on contact sports.

  2. It didn't play a huge role in my secondary school (11-16yrs), although we did play it in P.E., but at sixth form college (16-18yrs) it was a pretty big deal.

  3. yer in the top schools Rugby is huge! Any loser can just kick a ball but the skill, toughness and stamina (like your American football but no pads and no stopping) and tactical awareness needed to play Rugby is not something all men are able to do!

what they say over here is - football is a gentelmans game played by thugs, Rugby is a thugs game played by gentleman...

  4. it is in wales boys usually play for thier school on saturday and the local club side sundays

  5. Lots of schools play "Rugby Union" played with 15 a side, especially the private schools.

Although around where I live "Rugby League" played with 13 a side is more popular, although I would say it is more driven by local clubs than schools.

  6. Its huge here in Ireland - all the grammar schools and top high schools play in the winter for the Schools Cup with the final being played on St. Patricks day. In my old school we weren't allowed to football without permission from the headmaster - even on Saturdays because you have to go to school in the morning and play rugby.

  7. I think that rugby is played in UK schools. Rugby is very English, and as far as I know it is on the school curriculum.

  8. no
