I've heard that it's better to not run at all than to run a couple of miles once a week. Is this true?

BTW, we're talking about someone who can run a couple of miles without any problems. But, s/he doesn't have enough time to run at least three times a week.

  1. its better to run a couple times than not run at all

  2. yeah

  3. If you can run a couple of miles with no problem (muscle/joint soreness) then it is definitely better to run a couple miles once every week then not running at all.

now if you are starting to have muscle/joint issues then decrease the mileage.

ANY exercise is better then no exercise.

  4. it is always better to run the 1-2 miles, or in the future you won't be able to run 1-2 miles as well.

you'll slow down, and slowly lose your shape...yeah!^-^

  5. It is too bad that this person has to choose between once or not at all. There are few benefits from running once a week. Really the only benefit is that they will be burning some calories that they wouldn't be burning otherwise.

There will be no benefit to their muscular or cardiovascular systems.

The only downside to running a couple of miles once a week would be in the case of someone this is horribly out of shape. Since you have clarified that they are already fit that wouldn't come into play.

  6. running is good for your body and mind and is a good stress release.  So whenever you can is better than none

  7. yeahp, its better than not to run at all at least u ran like a couple of miles
