  1. I kinda understand. Let me try to answer your question.

Kudos for you for moving! It's good that you are running and walking. Yes, you are still burning calories, although running burns more as your heart is pumping faster*Thus, burning more energy.*

No, walking for a half hour is not like running, considering running is much more strenuous. Maybe when walking, POWER WALK. That's more strenuous, just not to the running par.

    Have Fun!

  2. Any excercise is good excercise.  I guess it wouldn't really matter, you would lose weight either way, but running you are just going to lose more faster.

  3. running burns more calories than walking, i would say work up to not walking.

  4. nope running burns more calories than walking

  5. They are different movements, but both are exercise, and both are good for you.  Walking is in fact the best exercise.  Very very few people are ever injured walking and you can use only slightly fewer calories walking a given distance briskly as running it because you exercise longer while walking, even though the intensity is lower.

Be sure to lower your caloric intake significantly or all your hard work will be wasted.  Exercise adds only minimally to weight loss.

Some of the research in the reference provided is a little outdated, but overall the info is very useful.

  6. even slowing down to walk is better than sitting on the couch.

  7. youre doing a good routine ..and yes you can still burn fat and calories but...running makes it happen alot faster ..so do more running and less walking ..and when you walk power walk with force to feel the burn in your calfs ...the after results feel great ...good luck

  8. The faster you move, the more calories you burn, so if you run 30 min you will burn more calories than walking for 30 but any movement at all will burn some calories, so just keep moving!  Once you get used to running you will be able to go longer without having to stop and walk.  I know this for experience, when I started running I couldn't even make it half a mile but a year later I ran a 10k (6.2 miles) without stopping once.  I just took it slow and ran a little farther each week.  Good luck!

  9. Yeah I understand and that is actually the proper way to loose weight.  You could proportion the walking and running by going to a track and just run a lap walk a lap.  Best way to get in shape and you should do this until you can run about 3 or 4 laps straight.

  10. ummm no matter what thats good exercise but running burns more calories

  11. if you walk, you'll burn calories, but slower than if you ran. try 10 minutes a day, then slowly build it up

    good luck   x

  12. a slow walk is not going to help, you gotta do a brisk one to maintain the burn rate. you can work on shortening the walking as you progress until you can do a complete run, remember there should be a time limit set to see if you've attain your goal.

  13. speed walking burns as much fat and calories as running but running is very hard on the joints. i recommend speed walking.
