From hearsay running in the morning supposedly you can burn more fat/have a more higher metabolism but how? I mean if your answer is you will burn off what you ate for dinner and your metabolism will burn more throughout the day couldn't that be said if you ran after lunch? I mean in the morning you have less energy and can not run as far/hard like you can at another time of the day.

  1. Depends on how much you run.  If you are running on an empty stomache, then it is possible that instead of burning fat, you will burn muscle or calories that you do not have to burn.  Consider eating something light that is low in fat, but having some calories before running.

  2. Running is running and you burn the same amount of calories regardless of the time of day or your stomach contents.

The only thing about running as to when you eat is sometimes something on your stomach will cause distress.
