Question:

Is running laps in your backyard just as effective as going to a track to run?

obviously you would have to run a lot more laps but would it still work?

  1. Running is running.  Distance and speed are what matter.  It might be safer to run on a track--no dog p**p or nosy neighbors thinking you're crazy.


  2. Yes it would work, but I would imagine that it would get quite boring after sometime. Try to get out and run on your street to add some pizazz to your workout.

  3. I mean, technically it is the same but why do it? I would go insane. Your house must be connected to a road unless you live in the desert, so use that.

  4. YEA. you could run anywhere, even in your house. its still running

  5. yea thats totally fine! ;)

    it might actually be better b/c you will be running on grass or dirt prolly and that's a lot better on your knees and shins which will prevent shin splints :D

    maybe bring your ipod if you have one to listen to the whole time so you dont get bored, or just see how many laps you can get!  make a game out of it somehow to make it fun

  6. Yes, as long as you are running at the same intensity/distance.

  7. effective=no...becuase all the turning you have to do would eventually take a toll and you wouldnt be able to run as farh
