Is running the best way to lose weight?

I'm not a runner at all I hate it! But i heard that if i started running i would lose weight fast. Is that true and would I have to change me eating habits? I want to lose weight so bad and not just a little weight either. I want to lose like 40-50 lbs. Should I do it on my own or see a personal trainer? I don't know what to do please help.

  1. running and swiming is the best. but the most important thing to losing weight is eating the right foods and the right amounts at the right time


  2. Go to the gym, it doesn't cost a lot, and there are trainers in the gym that can help you.  

  3. I believe yes, nothing so far can beat running's exercise, not even swimming.

    Losing weight is all in the mind and how much you can do it,

    if you want to be with a personal trainer you can, but i wouldn't recommend it

    im 12 years old and i lost almost 30 pounds swimming and babysitting, ALWAYS be active, i ate less carbs, and i actually ate a lot, enjoy eating, its good for you,

    also drink LOTS of water, when you pee, fat acids flushes out with it (i know weird huh?) 6-8 cups of water.

    (its kinda hard on your joints so take it like a man, woman!)

  5. jogging IS a good way to lose weight. um u'd have to drink a lot of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies and some lean meat. personal trainers are really expensive but if u really want to you could hire one. good luck and plz don't lose too much and go anorexic!

  6. You will also need to change your eating habits permanently, don't go for a fad "diet".

    Your body needs fat and calories to survive. Instead of taking away everything that has fat in it, you should start eating food with the right kind of fat and calories, for example, the fat oil from fish is very healthy.  If you start to starve your body, your body will go into survival mode. This means that when you reduce the fat you eat to a minimum, your body will preserve a higher percentage of the fat it's given. Let's say you normally eat a lot of fat, more than your body needs, it will only store maybe 25% of the fat. But when you reduce the fat to a minimum, it will at first do as normal and by that you will lose weight...for a short time...Then your body will adjust by starting to store maybe 50% of the small amount of fat you digest.  What do you think will happen at once the diet is over? You will gain weight even faster than before.  So, periods of starving or strict diets will make you even fatter than before.

  8. Hi KC,  Running will help but if you do not change your lifestyle you will not succeed. You do need to change your eating habits and get some kind of exercise program going. You do not have to run but you do need to exercise!  K.C. Choose one and follow it and you will succeed and lose your weight. I think if you look around their site you might also find some exercise programs that might be of value to you  too. You do not need a personal trainer if you can disciplne yourself.
