  1. yes up to 8 plug ins just don't use things like kettles and space heaters, things that take up allot of watts.

most things like amp DVD TV computer modem fishtank lights are OK ,that's been my experience, its only up to 8 though..lol

more maybe you might be looking for the breaker box

  2. no it isnt sounds like an electric fire looking for a place to start i just read in paper a teen was burned to death that very way over loading a power strip

  3. No because each strip has a 15 amp circuit breaker so no matter what they will pop the breaker before they can do any harm, this is the reason for the breaker in the first place. Especially with electronics such as computers and stereo equiptment. I have 2 on my PC and 2 on my stereo and none have ever tripped the breaker. Think about it, you can buy power strips with 5,6,7,8, outlets. Common sence would say that 2 strips with 5 arent the same as one with 8 but the law of electricity will explain that if a window unit is on one then you will trip the breakers with additional devices. 4. That's ok so long as you don't exceed the maximum watts of the first power strip on the second power strip. Most power strips have a maximum of 10 amps which is 2400watts on 240volts or 1100 watts on 110 volts.

All good power strips should have a cut out switch when you draw to much through them.
