  1. Yes

  2. Yes.  This is why one floats better in an ocean than a pool, lake or pond.

  3. Salt water has a higher density than fresh water

When salt iz added to water it adds more weight and makes the water slightly thicker making it MORE DENSE.

  4. Yes, it has to do with a measure called specific gravity.

  5. a few people already gave you this answer, but I'll explain you why it is more dense.

-say you had two glasses of water.  For this example we'll say in each glass is just pure water.

-If you didn't know, water you see is made up of many "water molecules"

-A water molecule is made up of the elements "Hydrogen and Oxygen", however it is important to remember that there must be two hydrogens and one oxygen (ie: H2O = water)

-if you add salt to one of the glasses of water, you are adding salt molecules (made up of the elements Na [sodium] and Cl [Chlorine]).

-Since you are adding more molecules to only one glass, it is becoming more dense!

also, if you have ever been in a body of water that was fresh, you'd find it is much more difficult to float on your back than if you were in a body of water that had saltwater in it (because salt water is more dense, thus you can float on it easier).

    hope that helps =]

  6. Yes Salt water is definitely denser than fresh water. You will be able to float better if you were dropped in it - like ocean. I heard Black Sea has most concentrated salt amount per water making it the easiest sea to float in.

  7. yes salt water is more dense than fresh water!

  8. Yes.

  9. yes because the water molecules are farther together... fresh water has the molecules closer to each other. if u wer to put 6 people 12 inches from each other to represent salt water... then u push the first person... they will bump slower next to each otehr. but if u wer to put them closer together, they would easu\iyl slide the energy which makes it less dense

  10. I CONCUR WITH SMILES.
