Not according to an article on the AP

"PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere.""

  1. Then liberals love her, right?

Honestly, I just don't get why LIBERALS are daily critiizing her and accusing her of being.............LIBERAL

  2. She is an opportunistic illiterate religious fanatic.

Let us all have Down Synfrome baby at age 44yrs and see what will happen.

Even the true pro-life Alaska moose knows better not to make baby at risky age.

  3. She worked to get money as a mayor and cut spending as a Governor so yes.

  4. Put the AP right next to US magazine, MSNBC & yesterday's NY Times out on the curb for garbage collection. That's where it belongs.

  5. No she is a messenger from God (atleast thats what she thinks she is)

  6. Nope.. just a pig with lipstick..

  7. She's a religious conservative. That's a better description.

  8. The Republicans abdicated their place as the party of fiscal responsibility long ago, in the early 1980s.

In fact it's ironic that the promises made by Republicans have been kept by Democrats.  The ONLY president since 1980 who cut taxes for the middle class, made government smaller, cut spending, cut deficits, and set us on track towards a balanced budget was a DEMOCRAT!

Republicans keep saying they want these things, but you have to wonder why they vote for candidates who won't do them.  GW Bush's deficits are the largest in history NOT COUNTING the cost of the Iraq War.

Sarah Palin is a typical Republican, in fact maybe worse when you consider that Alaska traditionally absorbs more pork, more special spending and earmarks, than any other small state.  Palin became mayor of a small town with no debt and when she left it had a debt of $4000 for each resident.  How can she call herself a fiscal conservative?
