  1. Not currently according to the information I have in front of me.

The only places where satelitte radio exists are the US, Canada, parts of Africa, parts of Europe and most of Asia.

  2. not as such but you can use server magic to get broadcast from other places

  3. Walker's got it right. Even WorldSpace doesn't cover Australia. You might be able to stream either XM, Sirius or Worldspace for a fee (I don't know if they'll allow it because of copyright issues). This would give you the service in your home, or where ever you have access to a computer.

Of course, even if you were allowed to become a subscriber, this won't help you in your car unless you've got a phone that will let you stream and then get the audio into your car system. I've been able to stream XM on my AT&T Tilt's internal speaker using Opera. But I haven't found a way to get the signal to integrate with my car audio. Frankly I haven't tried that hard, because I have XM and Sirius in my car (I'm in the business - so I have to keep up with all of it).

So, my friend, until Australia gets its own satellite service, I'm afraid your stuck with local stations and your CD collection. The liklihood of an Australian or Oceana service is not great. It's incredibly expensive to start-up and the population of your country is probably not enough to justify the cost.

Wish I could be more helpdul or at least somewhat encouraging, but that's the way it is.
