with global warming we tend to see  truths in your statement.  the push for profit in the capitalist world has resulted in a great devouring of nature's resources.  lately we can see the price of food staples shooting up 'cos of demand for bio-fuel that makes farmers switching to more profitable crops.  fresh water supplies is also at stake.  with wafer fabrication, the amount of water used and wasted is very high.  

indeed the capitalist world must temper their greed with nature's path or we will head for more difficult times
