  1. Hello, there is loads of construction work in Brisbane, we have just moved from there to NZ for a 2 year promotion but most likely will be heading back to Brisbane.  What do you do in construction?  Might be able to make some recommendations of employers etc.

Sydney is a nicer place to live... but you can get a much nicer house in Brisbane for a lot lower price, cost of living is about the same in each.

Wages in construction are about the same in both places.

Due to the cost of housing howerver, I would choose Brisbane over Sydney (merely because we couldn't afford a good house on a large section in a good area in Sydney but we can in Brisbane).

A bit of a disjointed answer, hope it helps!

  2. Cost of living in Sydney is appalling. Brisbane would be a better bet. If you had to come to Sydney I would suggest the Parramatta area because there is a lot of construction going on around there, and it is away from the worst of Sydney's madness.

  3. Depends on what type of work you are looking for and if you have any qualifications. I would suggest Brisbane as Queensland is overflowing with employment opportunities especially in the mining sector and related support industries.

  4. Try the links below for jobs in your field for Brisbane and Sydney. There are usually quite a few jobs in construction on the Gold Coast too.

I've chosen to live somewhere other than a capital city but that's just me. Good luck.
