  1. Criticise an aspect of behaviour, but I do not condemn the whole person.  I am not wholly defined by aspects of my behaviour.  My behaviour may be bad, but I am not.

Self criticism is too mixed up with self denigration 'I am bad'.  Not helpful.  Self-esteem' 'I must be good' also unrealsitic.

I would rather try self-acceptance and to try and live in degrees of happiness and sadness, rather than goodness and badness.  Which is what self critcism seems to get mixed up with.

    IMO.

  2. YES and NO. No one wantss to be around an Emotional person who wears their $hit on their sleeves, and no one wants to be around an over-inflated ego. So, one has to learn when to know what to listen to and what to take with a grain of salt. One can't believe that his $hit don't stink or that the Sun rises and falls on his behalf. One must be level headed and takeresponsibilityy for his actions

  3. I don't think so. I think people are far more critical and demanding of themselves and others than ever before. The need for people having good self-esteem is more important in these days of the photoshop visions of "perfection" you see all around.
