I think it's selfish.

Why then would Whitney Houston sing...

learning to love yourself... it is the greatest love of all.

  1. You're right.  It's a selfish kind of love.  Whitney meant that before you can love somebody else, you must love yourself first for how could you give love to someone when you don't even love yourself.  Would turn out you are being a hypocrite.

  2. Noooooooo, because it is synonymous to narcissism.  Narcissism is like "I - myself - and me" only.

  3. She sang it while she's high on drugs.

  4. What?   I'm trying to figure out how to get from St.Paul, Mn to Puerto Escondido by car?    One of us must be in the wrong place?

  5. Not the greatest love, but will do if you can't find a girl.

  6. Ok.   If it will make you feel better,  why not tell yourself it must have been a typo.   That it was actually some other word there.  Like, "your man" if the singer is a girl, or "your wife", if the singer was a man, and a married man, at that.   If the singer was not a married man, and eligible, "your girl".

So many words and relations we can think of that will fit.  "Your bro" if it is someone's brother,  "your sis" if it is someone's sister, "your Ma" if the greatest love is your mother, "your Pa" if it is your Dad.

Here's more.  "Your dog" if the singer was a dog lover.  "your cat" if it is cat lover.   How about "your car", if the singer simply loves his car more than anything in the world.

But "yourself" is also good, you know.   But if you really feel bad about it,  you can change it "your flesh" if you really care for your skin, and patronizes Vicky Belo.   Or, how about "your eyes" if you are an optometrist, ophathalmologist, or simply a techie who loves optic fibers.   How about "your nose"?   Your ears?   Your hair?

  7. It's a bit of selfishness. But try to think of this, how can you love others if you can't even love yourself?

  8. Selflove is not the greatest love of all, however you must like yourself to be able to really love someone else. Altruistic and love for God or Jesus is not counted as the same and you may hate yourself and still love God. Really I am just rambling...

  9. i think the greatest love of all is to love other people. love them without any conditions, love them because they deserve to be love and love them whoever they are.

  10. It is in the Phillippines.

  11. for some it is.

  12. I don't think it's selfish at all. I think when you love yourself it will be the greatest love because it gives you the capacity to love other person(s).

I don't believe it's selfless love when someone allows themselves being beaten up or allow other people to hurt them and would say it's because of love. It's bullshit.

If you care, love, respect and value yourself then you can give the same care, love, respect and value to others then others can give you the same things too.

  13. No, actually loving Jesus is the greatest love of all and then you have to be able to love yourself before you can even begin to try to love anyone else or it just won't work out. I am not one of those Bible thumpers, that i just what I believe. If you don't love you the most (besides whom ever you worship) then how can you expect anyone else to love you either. If you don't take care of you then no one will. I hope that make sense and helps. It is a great thing to finally figure out that you are worth loving and that you do love yourself just the way you are; if you find this you will find much happiness. Best Wishes.

  14. I heard it will make you go blind.

  15. yes, but doing all the time can cause cramps in your hand
