Question:

Is selling on eBay harder than it used to be a few years ago?

I work with a friend of mine, selling made to order bridal wear plus prom dress, and evening gowns. I also sell nightdresses. But it has gone very quiet on eBay. I do lots of advertising and bridal fairs, and the retail market in UK seems strong. I think my items are good designs, and competitively priced. Did ebay, for some reason, stop international buyers from bidding as we no longer get enquiries from overseas?

Please have a look and give me your honest opinion, thank you!!

  1. There are so many items on eBay nowadays, quite often I cannot be bothered to trail through page after page. Also it seems to be quite costly to sell on there now. I am sure other people will feel the same.

I had a look at the link, your stuff looks great!

  2. It isn't so much that as it has been the experience of buyers and seller alike to have problems with an international ebay auction. Quite a few are leery now to bid on international auctions. I do sell on eBay in the U.S. I also have noticed the downward trend of not as many people buying or selling on eBay as they did 5 years ago. Ebay put the screws to the little guy, and it seems all they are interested in are the power sellers. They have raised the fees to such a ridiculous amount plus taking a percentage on top of that, then the fees if you use Pay Pal, that it has stopped a lot of people from selling anymore. I finally closed my store because of something they did that stopped the traffic to it when buyers would enter the item in the search engine. So traffic overall isn't what it used to be.

You store is very attractive. I thought your dresses beautiful and very reasonable.

  3. ebay stinks now. They charge too much and take too much of your money just to list things on their site.

People now go to craigslist because  its free! and convenient, and safe too!
