  1. Sparkling water does in fact have some sodium, but also tends to be rich in bicarbonate, which is believed to help balance any negative effects sodium may have in the body....

So the sodium issue should be thrown out the window.

Now on to the main point, high quality sparkling water like peligrino and badoit are very high in other beneficial minerals as well.  Research has shown that fizzy water is actually more beneficial than still, due to all the minerals.

Low quality soda water is still up for debate however, but in the end its all water, and given a choice, if you like soda water better, then you should be ok, maybe even better!

  2. You need to keep an eye on both.

Spring water is fine as long as it is at least filtered. Better yet it should be purified. Just cause it is spring water does not mean that it is free of contaminates. Yes running through the earth and rocks helps to clean water but without the extra step you just don't know what is in it.

Many seltzer waters add sodium. Some don't. Usually seltzer water is filterd or purified so there is no problem there. Just get the type that does not have sodium in it and you will be fine.

Best of all just skip both and get bottles that just say purified water on it. Even if the spring water or selzer water are purified they are no better for you then regular purified tap. Save some money and just get regular purified water.

  3. Spring water is the best.

  4. Yes, yes it is.  It is all just water.  Different tastes, but the differences in nutrition is so minute it's the same.

  5. No, they're not the same.

Seltzer usually has added salt. Just look at the label!
