  1. sensex is just one of the indicators of economic growth. stock markets are influenced by current trends and events too. also, many companies are not listed on the sensex.

  3. No, It is just the measure of worth of 30 pre decided organisations based on the capital worth and trade volumes. Generally they represent various industry sectors but will never showcase the actual industry  or national economy state.

    Moreover they just represent large publically listed companies. They do not represent, agriculture, government jobs ,  private businesses and small manugfacturing and trade companies where mass employment happens.

    Also, speculation also affects sensex in both positive and negative way making it unreliable.

    GDP growth is more closer(But still not perfect) benchmark of economic growth.
