there is no news yet of what kind of characters that are going to be in the new final fantasy 13 game, hopefully they will say what kind of game it is and what it is about soon, including the characters, too.

No, Sephiroth and Cloud aren't in FF13.  Those two characters are in the Final Fantasy VII series only. Go look up a trailer for FF13 on YouTube or something. That should give you some idea of what the game will be like.

LOL, no.  Maybe you saw the PS3 hardware demo which featured a completely redone FF7 intro.  As of yet, they've released no information on a possible remake of the game, but they haven't ruled it out--it's highly unlikely though.  They've mostly milked the series dry, and the FF7-related games have mostly gotten worse (to the horror of FF7 fans--me included).

See the wiki source I've included--has info.  It has a more active battle system like what you'd see in FF7:advent children, but as far as characters... they're all new.  This game focuses on crystals and such... no materia.  It looks like the lead character if female this time around
