I've washed my hair with washing-up liquid, (while camping) and the result was good.

  1. I washed my hsair with washing-up liquid, at university, way back in the 1960s. It worked a treat!

Shampoo & washing up liquid are effectively the same - the shampoo has a lot more added ingredients, some of which are alleged to do wondrous things to/for your hair.

  2. They are the same basic materials but, very different additives.

Shampoo for washing dishes is OK as long as they're well rinsed and, washing up liquid is used on the hands and I see no problem on the hair, again, with a thorough rinsing after.

  3. why didnt u use both products for there specified uses (while camping)?

  4. Nope!!

  5. Washing up liquid is abrasive and irritating to the skin and should not be used to wash the body or hair.  You may have got away with it, that time but could have ended up with an itchy flaky scalp.  As a child, I decided to add washing up liquid to my bath, as the bubble bath had run out.  I still remember my whole body feeling like it was on fire ouch! LOL

  6. No they are not! certainly don't wash your hair again with washing up liquid.

  7. Hahaha.. What did you use for conditioner.. Try washing your hair with raw egg - using really hot water.. lol

  8. Washing-up liquid is a much harsher substance - it can strip paint, let alone hair follicles!  It may have given you a good effect if your hair is greasy, but I don't think you should use it regularly, hair is too delicate.

  9. No.

  10. No washing up liquid is generally designed to clean off grease from anything so on human hair it would naturally be good however only good for a few uses as after time it would damage the hair whereas shampoo is designed for everyday use.

    :)

  11. Yes, but does Fairy Liquid prevent dandruff and split ends?

And also, do you want all your plates and spoons to have that lustrous, silky sheen you get with Head 'n' Shoulders?

  12. Yes, and I have used both for the other purpose.

Using shampoo for washing up is fine, but if you use washing up liquid as shampoo, be careful not to get it into your eyes. They try and give shampoo a pH of 7 (neither acid or alkali), but there is no need to this with washing up liquid; and as a consequence it can sting more in the eyes.

  13. well they start out from same ingredients  SOAP  BUT things are added and taken out for different products

  14. no some liquid washing have materials that cause sensitivity in skin and some people has skin problem and liquid washing can go to alopecia and hair loss

  15. Washing up liquid contains detergents, so unless you want to risk hair problems, and problems with your scalp, I strongly advise you to wash your hair in a good quality SHAMPOO, and use washing up liquid, for what it's meant for.

    WASHING UP!

  16. Of Course no!

They both have different chemicals that make your hair shiny and clean. Maybe, shampoo has biotin, while washing-up liquids have glutanine.
