Is she crazy or what? How can this be?

I have a family member who is African American and she refuse to have a baby by an African American man. Don't get me wrong i have nothing against interracial relationships or children, but she is doing it for the wrong reasons. She wants her baby to be by a caucasian, asian,hawaiian or hispanic just so it can have pretty hair, skin tone and eyes. I think she is crazy! What is her problem i can see if you so happen to fall in love and married a different nationality that would be different. Please help me to understand her prejudice. She is actually screening men of those races to conceive a child with. What is her problem? She claims the child would look better.

it's stupid to care what  your child would look like, no matter the race.

if she loves her baby, then that's really all that she needs, isn't it?

everyone wants there child to be beautiful..all parents say..your the prettiest girl in your class. Thats probably what she has always wanted.

And a lot of people coould of told her she was ugly because of the things she had...because of her race..like different hair...different eyes and more.

u can't blame her but u should tell her that love is more important and to find the one she loves...before caring about anything else.

The key to analyzing such problems stems from the root or causative factors. Maybe, how you understand your family member is not how she meant to send the message but that is how she knows to put it over. Looking back at her past may tell you more: as a child she was probably teased for having no hair or nappy hair, the color of her skin or even in her general appearance. The result today: no self esteem hence she is living to please society and her pride is false. But again she is not to be blamed, the correction should have been made in the past. However, it is not too late for your interventions, so lend your shoulder and help her understand that she will probably do her self more harm with her current concept.

I'm on her side, this is pretty bizarre. She should just try to find someone she loves and it doesn't need to matter what color they are.

That's crazy she should have a baby bye who she falls in love with what if she falls in love with a african american what is she gonna do and some african americans have good hair. Try talking to her and have her put up a pole saying her problem and answers are shes crazy or its her choice. hope i helped what i said and all no prob peace!

When it comes to prejudices...don't try to understand them because you never will. Let her be ignorant and live in her own little weird world and don't try to get sucked into it. Just live your life. You can't change how she thinks. I know it's sad but you really can't change her.

if she is still a teenager then shes gonna grow out of it.if not,she prob. thinks shes not pretty enough for her race and wants a beautiful child.

it's one thing to decide not to have a baby, but based off the fact that she's worried the kid is going to turn out not how she wants it!?

she may think she's doing her nonexistent kid a favor, but i think she's actually being really selfish.
