Is she cutting me out?

Question

I have a friend that I went to college with a couple of years ago, (both of us were mature students). We kept in contact after college and I helped her through some difficult times with her abusive (now ex) bf and her teenage daughters. Anyway, I hadn't heard from her for a few months apart from the odd text here and there so I decided to ring her and catch up on stuff, she seemed a bit busy and said she would call back but she never did. I text her a week later inviting her to lunch but she said she couldn't leave her new puppy home alone and couldn't bring her because she's not yet house trained so I thought fair enough. About 3 weeks later I bumped in to her whilst out shopping and she looked really startled and shifty when she saw me and made a weird excuse and left. Yesterday she signed on Y! messenger and when I sent her an IM she again made some excuse about the puppy and quickly signed out. So now I think she is avoiding me, it's pissed me off a bit considering I have been a pretty loyal friend to her. I'm not one to go begging friends with anyone but she has pissed me off, any ideas for handling this?

It seams like she is

i would forget about her and move on,

you could ask her whats going on, that might help

Sounds like she maybe back with he abusive bf or a new one who is controlling who she sees.

It is unpleasant, but can only be deeply disturbing if you take this as evidence that you unworthy.  So you have control over what you ultimately feel depending upon what You believe about Yourself.  Another cause of emotional disturbance is if we 'insist' people live up to our expectations of decent behaviour.  Most of the time I am a decent person, but every now and then I behave like a dipstick or flawed human being.  Or sometmes I am looking for people to fill a void and I get p'eed off when they don't do as I wish.

You can maybe ask her why is she avoiding you, she maybe would reply back 2 you.

Like Beth C said, she might be planning for a surprise party for you. Or else, she might not want you to interfere in her life anymore or else lost the interest in you. Cheer up, mate!!
