Is she fake? How do I know?

What are some characteristics to look for when noticing a "fake" person?

For example, someone who is nice in front of you, then talks about you. Someone who is nice to you one day, then not talking to you the next or whatever, like that.

What would you look for in a person from observing when meeting a new person for the first time?

[Also, not saying that it influences how you treat them or act towards them (I know you shouldn't "judge a book by it's cover")] Just as a silent observation of their personality.

To me, someone is fake when they

change their views to fit in with everyone else.

Example: Someone loves a band, but than decides

its g*y to fit in with that everybody else thinks. Or they change,

their style or hair.
