Question:

Is she hurt?

My parakeet, since the time I got her, which was like a year ago has always has this part on her where if you look under the feathers is red and looks like dried blood. I'm worried that she was injured and possibly keeps reopening a wound or something. When I let her out to fly, flying looks like it hurts her sometimes. And when she's wet you can clearly see on both wings at the top parts, it looks red but only that part. I'm confused what's going on. I've been breeding parakeets for more than 5 years now and haven't seen something like this before, except I bought two new parakeets yesterday and the older one of the two sort of has the same thing. Does anyone have any idea what that is or what the problem is?

  1. go to the vet

  2. She might have a blood wing.  My cockatiel has one.  It's just a wound.  But just to be sure that it's not serious you need to go to the vet just to make sure.

  3. it could be a feather that has become infected but to be sure l would take your budgie to an avian vet asap.

  4. go to the vet because she might be really really hurt
