  1. Well she is most likely ready for them if her instructer said she could get on them.

My pointe shoes are Blochs and I like them. Its usually a try and see which brand she likes the best thing, or if her teacher recomends a brand.

  2. If her teacher is going to give them to her than they must think that she is ready, however girl's should not start pointe till 11 or 12 because there are bones are too soft and ankles too weak to hold them in the correct positions. however a good brand is bloch or cappezio.

  3. I think she should wait a little longer. Your bones have to be fully developed and if they're not it can cause injury.

  4. People usually get pointe shoes from the ages of 9-16.  Any younger then 9 is pretty dangerous.  Your daughter is at a good age because her bones have already "ossified."  If her ballet teacher said it's ok, then you can get her pointe shoes.  I've heard that capezio is a good brand to start with.  Anything but Gaynor minden, because gm weaken ankles.  Have her professionally fitted so she can really have good shoes.  Good luck and I hope she has Lot's of fun=)

  5. Her instructor should know if she is ready for pointe shoes or not. I started pointe at 11. I think that Bloch is a good beginner brand.

Good luck and hope this helps!

  6. Don't worry, if and when your daughter is ready for pointe, her teacher will talk to you. She will go over the risks, pointe shoe brands, where to buy them, ect. NEVER buy pointe shoes online unless you have bought the exact make before and know what her size is. There is a website that has discounted dance stuff, including pointe shoes, that will help you get a general price. But wait untill you have bought her first pair and made sure they fit good before buying again.

    Here's the website:

    Have a nice day =)

  7. Her ballet teacher is the one with the most realistic opinion so, if she says it's okay, then it must be okay. For pointe shoes, I reccomend Bloch Heritages.

They work miracles for beginners, and they are great when your first start. They are easy on the toes, and it is very simple to stay on the box! Good Luck!

  8. ASK THE TEACHER!

  9. Talk to her teacher.

  10. ask her teacher not yahoo

  11. When you go to the store to buy her first pair, make sure they know it's her first.  The shopkeepers should give her several different brands and types to try on.  My whole class went together for our first fitting.  One girl found the perfect pair from the first one she tried on.  Other girls tried on practically the whole store before the shopkeepers and teacher agreed they had found the right fit.  For myself, I had only tried on two or three different pairs before they found the right fit.  Every girl is different and prefers a different brand.  I would rely on the teacher's and shopkeepers' opinions when choosing a brand.

Since your daughter is young, and depending on how much she dances, she will probably have more than one pair.  Next time she needs to shop for a new pair, she can ask for a different brand if she doesn't like the one she ended up with.  Your feet change over time and she will get stronger so later on, she may actually need a different brand.

  12. 1. Only her teacher should be deciding this...

    2. you should ask the teacher, not some website!

  13. To me, that sounds a little too young. I would wait until she is almost 12 to get them, because her bones are probably not fully developed yet and she could hurt herself. I would talk to her teacher about it though, ask her about the risks of starting her this early. I did not get pointe shoes until i was 13, cause my mom did not want me to get injured. Thats my advice, good luck!

  14. you should talk to the instructor. DO NOT start point if the instructor does not think she is ready. with out proper training pointe could result in serious injury, and an overall bad experience.

if the instructor thinks she is ready i recommend Bloch. they are tough to break in, but last a long time. very good quality.

**** make sure she gets her pointe shoes fitted! don't order online (unless you already know the measurements. and i don't mean street shoe size)! go to a special dance store where they fit you for pointe shoes :D
