I would also say it depends on your idea of "expensive".  It also depends if you order hot food or sushi.  Sushi is generally more expensive.  The prices may vary depending on which Shogun you are going to and if you are getting alcohol.  I would say Shoguns are higher than average, but no where near the highest.  

For just myself, I have spent as much as $110.  However, that was for a MASSIVE meal.  I ordered their largest platter of sushi ($90), a dragon roll, and some hot sake with a quail egg.

If my memory serves me, each roll cost approximately between $8 and $15, with most about about $12.  Alcohol is $10-20 for one person, depending one what you get.  Hot sake is generally cheaper, while the cold sakes are ordered by the bottle and are more expensive.
