Is shopping online a good thing or is it an easy way to get scamed?

I am thinking about doing some online shopping but I dont really know how it works. BTW i am not old.

Hmm...go to websites like Amazon or eBay. Those are highly trusted sites; I use it all the time and I'm only 12 and I haven't gotten scammed.

Both. Shopping online can be a good thing for a smart online buyer, but an easy way to become a victim of identity theft for a not-so-smart buyer. Just remember to shop at legitimate sites, and get a Paypal account. Remember to read the escription of the item, and the private policies, and get contact information. If it looks fishy, there is an 80% chance that it is. Also remember to use a phishing filter, which prevents you from being phished (which is when you visit a site that is made to look like another website, but is really out there to steal your information), and keep your omputer free of viruses and especially spyware and keygens, which record your keystrokes.

You can get scammed, but I'd recommend looking for BBB - better business on websites to make sure its a legit company, site, to shop for or with.
