Is showtimes "Dexter" about a serial killer?

I am confused, I haven't really watched it, but is he a cop and a serial killer?

Yes. Which is why he's very good at doing his job as a cop and tracking down serial killers, because he has the mind of one. The thing is, he only kills bad people. So he's not like a bad serial killer.

He's a serial killer. He's a sociopath because he watched a man kill his mother when he was young. His adoptive father worked as a police officer and noticed that Dexter had an antisocial personality disorder. So, his father groomed him to kill criminals who don't get caught by law enforcement. Dexter works as a blood spatter analyst while he kills criminals who weren't arrested because of faulty search warrants etc. It's a great show. You can watch it here
