  1. Ok what you describe is secondary drowning, when a person swallows a lot of water, has a near drowning gets saved, seems fine then dies several hours later after they have been out of the water walking around.  Yes this happens but very rarely.

A silent drowning is where there is no struggle.

  2. Yes you can drown if you fall asleep in water, if you are sound asleep. There are cases where people drowned in their own bath tubs falling sleep while drinking alcohol or taking relaxants.

So it is very important you don't drink while in a jacuzzi or any hot tubs, because you can pass out and drown.

  3. yeap~

When someone drowns, it usually takes them 3 minutes to die.

    So, becareful

  4. It's true but I think you have your terms mixed up. Silent drowning is when someone doesn't have an active struggle on the surface or deeper and they just sink to the bottom of the pool or where ever. What you're talking about is called dry drowning, there are many different types of dry drowning, like water can touch the epiglottis causing it to spasm an close over the lungs. Another type is when water is aspirated and the lungs can not cough out the water causing the victim to drown. Throwing up wouldn't do anything to help this because that evacuates the stomach not the lungs and water is not swallowed, it's breathed in.

  5. you can't drown by DRINKING pool water. it doesnt go to your lungs
