  1. What kind of frogs? Most do not enjoy sand because they tend to need moist environments and sand does not hold humidity.  Also sand is very likely to cause impaction, unless finely grained. I use very fine sand in my African Clawed frog tanks and they have had no issue.


  2. It is safe, but frogs really do not need sand. All they need is water and something solid to rest on when not swimming and the prefer a place they can hide in.
