Is sitting all day in front of a computer bad for your eyes ???

Question

i spend most of my day in front of a computer,

anyways,

i use a LCD screen

and i have the brightness and contrast very low

anyways,

i heard that if you blink frecuently and dont stare at the screen without blinking, your ok, i mean, because your eyes might get dry,

thats one theory

but is the rays of the screen harmfulll for the eyes ?

i doont think so i sit at the comp most of the day aswell but eyes havent gone damaged or glasses or something like that

but dont be on the comp wen the room is dark put the lights on it makes a diff
