Is skateboard similar to surfing the movement an style?

The thing is with anything a turn is a turn is a turn. Fundamentals are the same for anything.

It's more similar to a skate than snow.....more like a car, less like a bike.

Snowboarding is more like a bike. Unless its deep powder.

And also, I find that a sequence in a wave, when you cut it down, is exactly the same as a snowboard jump. Just the jump, not the slopes.

There's pressure on your rail(surf), then you pop as you launch, you're free in the air(snow), just like you're turning in the top part of the wave, then you bend for the landing(snow), prepare for the next rail pressure(surf), and land(snow), and bottom turn again(surf).

NO not at all dude!  maybe if you are riding a Sector nine skate board, then it would be a little similar. The way you stand on your skate board might transfer to the way you stand on a surfboard.  Another thing to take into consideration is that the ocean is always changing!! You need good balance ad that takes a strong core. The ocean waves will be pushing you instead of you pushing your self.

90% of surfing is paddling! so be prepared to paddle a lot, with your HANDS not your feet!
