I mean really with all the MTV sell out c**p and the X Games. Skateboarding is no longer the great underground rebellion it once was. And with Tony Hawk selling out to malls is that not all the proof you need. Is there a hero who can save the sport?!

  1. skateboarding is not dead to all its how and why you skate that makes the difference if your looking to get better because you like it and you want to do it thats all that matters if you do it because this person does it and you wanna be cool your a poser if you do it to get sponsored and **** your a ******* sell out do it for your self allot of people need to realize that

and as for your question Is there a hero who can save the sport?! No because the people that make it big in skateboarding are just as bad as the rest

  2. Nah man, you've got it a bit wrong. Going to local basement hardcore punk and skate thrash shows, I can say that DIY skateboarding is alive. I've met more than a few kids who totally dig all the old bands like JFA and the Stalag 13 that provided the original skate soundtrack for those old home videos. Don't look to heroes, look to kids like them who know they'll never be stars, and just love to tear up some asphalt after they get home from some mediocre job, it being the only thing that keeps them sane.

Oh, I've also seen some bands selling some pretty rad skateboards. I Object, a great band from Rochester, came out with one not too long ago, with the art done by punk/anarchist icon Chistie Rhoades.

  3. yeah his name is Danny Way.

  4. ♦nah man not at all i used see at least 10 skaters where i used to live everyday♦

  5. nah i dont think so the underground scene is still pretty big
