  1. Moguls are hard on knees

  2. depends on how hardcore you are and how good your form is

  3. it can be.  it doesnt effect younger people as much as older. moguls can be hard on your knees as well has jumps rail ect.

i just got back to skiing, i tore my acl last year (playing soccer), had surgery tons of physical therapy and i was back on the slops, it felt so good to be back and my knee didnt bother me at all, but then again i am an athletic young adult

  4. downhill skiing is very  hard on the knees depending on how enthusiastic you become.  cross country skiing is a more physical and healthier sport.

  5. Not really. I had a twisting fall a couple years ago (cross country, non-release bindings!) which did very bad things to me for 1.5 years, but I can downhill or xc now with no problem. If you are an extreme type skier, with moguls, very fast, lots of tricks, then yes it is hard on the knees.

  6. Skiing is horrible on your knees, even sitting on the chair lifts is very bad on your knees. If you have knee problems, I recommend that you not ski.

  7. Not if you do it correctly and take a series of lessons from a qualified professional instructor.

  8. A little bit at first, but i think snowboarding probably is harder on the knees because your more likely to fall on them and stuff like that.

Stretching muscles around the knee will help if you have knee troubles.

  9. Like many things there are variables.

First off if this your first time then no you will ache but that is nothing really

Second off Do you ski aggressively. If this true you will feel stretching on your mcl and acl the ligaments in your knee.

Third off if you do moguls you will be pounding on your knees and later off in your life you feel it big time.

Fourth off, if you do jumps, cliffs, Rails, ect. you will feel it after a injury to your knee a lot and will for the rest of you knee.

These are areas that few people cross so if you are  casual skier no need to worry
