Question:

Is skiing harder than rollerblading?

I'd like to take ski lessons next year. I'm pretty good at sports but I'm bad at skating. I surfed once and was able to stay on the board a lot of times. I'd like to ski. What say you?

  1. No, skiing is easier...the surface area under your skis is a lot greater than what's under you rollerblading so you have more stability.

Even if you've never skied before, it's not hard to learn especially if you have any kind of balance at all.

Do take a lesson. The instructor will get you going and soon you'll be skiing on your own.

  2. In my opinion yes, but this is an opinion question.

  3. well I play roller hockey so I don't know if my opinion counts, but I picked up skiing in about 20 minutes or so. I could go down the intermediate course without dying.  Then again I can water ski and I skate all the time which may give me an advantage.

  4. If you are bad at rollerblading and good at surfing try snowboarding.  I personally am good at rollerblading and was able to ski well quickly.

  5. For me, skiing is easier, but than I ski every year and haven't rollerbladed in like 5 years.  It's not that hard to learn how to ski, especially if you go to lessons.

  6. Skiing is harder then rollerblading. If you don't know who to do either. i have been skiing since i was 1 and though my time it has become easy. But rollerblading is easier because:

    - Skies have edges and if you push it to much you just fall

    - Skies catch on thins easyly such as a lump of snow

    - Skiing is had to balance and move if you dont know how

    - With Rollerblading you can hold on to somthing with skies not much

Thats just my opinon but to me (since i have been skiing my whole life) its easier just ask if you want to know anything else
