  1. No more dangerous than any other resort. The resort has a responsibility to ensure guests are safe, hence they blast avalanche prone snow-pack, mark or rope off danger areas, and post warnings about hazardous conditions. As long as you stay in-bounds at a resort, you're safety is pretty much guaranteed. The ski patrols constantly check conditions and open / close terrain as necessary.

A ski resort with a bad safety record loses lots of potential income, and we all know they don't want that.

  2. It can be, park city has some fine challenging runs but resort operators don't make money by killing off their customers so they do everything possible to make skiing there as safe and enjoyable as possible. They rope off areas that are prone to avalanche and mark risky terrain such as exposed rocks and drops. The resort has to keep these areas open because alot of skiers crave this type of terrain but hill management designates these areas as black expert only runs and places signs to warn skiers. If you ski on runs that are posted within you ability you won't run into any dangerous situations and will have a safe enjoyable day on the slopes as opposed to a ride on a ski patrol sled

  3. Park City is very similiar to Heavenly Valley.

In the adjacent canyon are Alta and Snowbird, which are quite similiar to Squaw Valley

  4. park city as well as neigboring mountains such as the canyons and deer valley are all good ski areas, park city however does tend to get a bit crowded, but they do have skiing for all abilities, so do not be afriad of that, best bet is to get a trail guide to guide you as you travel doen the mountain, the mountains are easily marked to follow to assure you are going down the correct trail suited to your ability of skiing. Ski, where the trails are marked, do not try and go venture out on your own , on unmarked territory, remember you ski at your own risk. and as far as avalanches , you will hear them blowing to creted a avalalanche, but those areas are completly roped off for your safety. The evelation is a bit high so it does take some time for your body to adjust, you may find yourself a little bit winded, but nothing to worry about, dress properly, warm but not to the point where your sweating, wear some someblock the sun is  very strong, esp since your higher up, and just sit back and enjoy the wonder that park city and the area has to offer, main street is so beautiful, quaint fun shops to browse around in, i , have been to park city for the last 6 years, with my family, its our favorite getaway, plus salt lake city is failrly close, and its easy to find your way around, good luck and have FUN

  5. It is only dangerous if you hit a tree.

  7. The only dangerous part is trying to find a beer for apres ski! d**n those Mormons....
