  1. i  think you should not get insurance becuase its just a waste of money

ur sky poeple should be able to get u a new one if u have been with then for a long time

it also matters if u got children

if u live alone then there is a less chance it will break

  2. Sky will not let you cancel and become a new customer.

If the insurance is not expensive then keep it, the call out charge is high. I got sky+ in November, this is the third box under warranty and two call outs to re-set a fault. The equipment on the outside of the dish is also temperamental if facing prevailing bad weather, ie wind and rain.

  3. I certainly wouldn't pay insurance, it rarely works out to be good value.

A lot of the older Sky+ boxes were very fault prone, later ones seem better, but if yours is out of guarantee, you can easily get it repaired or buy a used replacement.

You'd struggle to get Sky to reinstall a new one as a new customer, as any discounts are restricted to one per household, but it may work - I wouldn't like to guarantee it though.
