it caught my attention in the klitschko fight that he kept slapping down ibragimov in order him from punching and also maybe to give him a better opening to land. so is it legal? it seemed like he was getting an unfair advantage.

  1. its only illegal if he does it to the guys body.

generally if he was doing it to the arm or glove in order to parry or block blows its perfectly legal.

  2. Well in my opinon I would say yes because it is unfair that was a good question.

  3. I was going to say that about the Klitchko fight.

Strictly speaking hitting with the inside (palm or heel) of the glove is against the rules.

Klitchko kept slapping down his opponent's jab, using an open glove and often using the inside of the glove.

The referee should have warned him about it and stopped him doing it.

Edit: see this link for the rules, third rule refers to use of an open glove being illegal - there is no mention of this being restricted to shots to the body  http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ru...

  4. yes it is but is not very good for the show
