  1. that's kind of strange.. and not good for your eyes i dont think.. because even if you're used to it now, your eyes are probably not getting enough oxygen from underneath those contacts. and they're probably red too, right? what do your parents say about them?? and also you should ask your optometrist

  2. Ok it does not matter if they are approved for extended wear, it is an absolute disaster waiting to happen.  Your eyes are getting no oxygen and that's not good.  You could get terrible eye infections, ulcers on your corneas, and in extreme cases possibly loose your eye (I've never seen this but the ophthalmologist I work for has.) I cannot stress to you enough that this can be very dangerous.

  3. Sleeping with your contacts in when the contacts are not designed for that is an excellent way of developing conjunctivitis and corneal scratches and perhaps other types of infections. Don't do it.

  4. You shouldn't sleep in contacts unless they are made for extended wear, and there are no conventional lenses ( the ones that are made for 3 months or longer wear time) that are approved for extended wear. So you should not be sleeping in those. Also if you are not in a conventional lens and are in a 2 weeks or 1 month lens, you should not be wearing them for 3 months and sleeping in them.  There are several lenses out there for extended wear. A few you can wear for 6 days straight and then take them out for a day, and then wear them for another 6 days then dispose of them. There are also some extended wear that you can wear for a month and then you just replace them every month. I would immediately stop what you are doing at the moment, because doing this can cause so much damage and in some cases if you scratch your eye to bad it can cause so much damage that you will become even more visually impaired or in rare cases lose all eye sight. Talk to your doctor about extended wear lenses and then make sure to sick with the time frame that you should be wearing them.

  5. My girlfriend sometimes sleeps with her contacts in and her optometrist told her it was bad to do...something about scratching her eyes or something bad..didnt sound good at all!

    note above ^ see I was right! :- )

  6. That is not good at all! It is never good to sleep in your contacts even if it doesnt hurt right now.  I had eye problems from leavin mine in to long and the reason why you dont realize that it is harming you is because it happens over time, slowly.  You arent getting enough oxygen in your eyes, plus all the dirt and pollution in the air gets stuck on the contacts.  I seriously suggest taking them out every night from now on.  You could get even get ulcers on your eye (happened to my friend) and you can go blind in that eye.  You only got one set of eyes your whole life..are you really willing to give them up now, when you're so young?

  7. I've never heard of contacts that you could use for thress months.
