Is smoke a kind of gas? (of science?)?

I cant seem to find anything on the computer...

So please help I am trying to figure out.. (but not homework..)

    The technical term for this is "colloid", which means any two phases of mass in suspension together.  For example, Jell-O is a suspension of liquid in a solid, and foam is a suspension of gas in a liquid.

    Colloids are not true solutions; the individual components are still distinct.  However, they can be so finely suspended that they will almost never separate on their own - for example, whipped cream.
